Our Services
Individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans
At Specialised Support Services, we provide evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to help people improve their quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern through understanding, respect and person-centred strategies.
Led by an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner who is also a Registered Mental Health Nurse, our approach considers the whole person. We recognise that behaviours of concern can be influenced by communication, trauma, mental health, disability, environmental factors and unmet needs. By understanding these underlying factors, we develop practical, individualised strategies that promote independence, wellbeing and meaningful participation in everyday life.
We work collaboratively with participants, families, carers and support teams to build capacity, improve outcomes and reduce the need for restrictive practices in line with the NDIS Practice Standards.
Our Positive Behaviour Support services include:
- Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
- Interim Behaviour Support Plans
- Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans
- Behaviour support plan reviews
- Staff and family education
- Strategies to reduce restrictive practices
- Collaborative support with families and multidisciplinary teams

We take a person-centred approach, ensuring your supports reflect your individual needs, preferences and aspirations. Whether you’re new to the NDIS or looking to make the most of your current plan, we’re here to help you make informed choices and maximise your funding.
Mental Health Assessments
At Specialised Support Services, we provide comprehensive Mental Health Assessments to gain a clear understanding of an individual’s mental health, wellbeing and support needs. Conducted by our Registered Mental Health Nurse, our assessments are person-centred, evidence-based and tailored to each participant’s unique circumstances.
We understand that mental health can have a significant impact on a person’s daily life, relationships and ability to achieve their goals. Our assessments identify strengths, areas of need and practical recommendations to support recovery, wellbeing, independence and improved quality of life.
Working collaboratively with participants, families, carers and other professionals, we develop clear recommendations that support informed decision-making and positive outcomes across all areas of a participant’s support network.
Our Mental Health Assessment services include:
- Comprehensive mental health assessments
- Psychosocial and wellbeing assessments
- Individualised recommendations and support planning
